What are your plans for Halloween?

I have added a great new theme as a little Halloween gift for you: The creepy Puzzle Blox Halloween Edition   The blox graphics are licensed for Puzzle Blox and have originally been designed by Jojo Mendoza from Philippines. He does an awesome work in designing icon sets and avatars and I can only recommend you to check out his web site!

This brand new theme is exclusive to the paid version of Puzzle Blox for now. But don’t worry, I will publish more themes for the Arcade! version in future, too.

I have just uploaded another beta update to Puzzle Blox Arcade!

A lot of issues have been fixed and various parts of the game and menu structure have been polished. Here’s a short change list:

• Improved touch screen reaction and precision
• Automatic update notification (can be disabled via Options screen)
• Open Puzzle Blox web site in case Google™ Android market place cannot be found on the device
• Better support for non-official Android ROMs (alternative versions of the Android operating system like CyanogenMod and others)
• Online error reporting can be disabled via Options screen
• Lowered default high scores
• Some animation effects overhauled
• Stability improvements
• Optimized file size

Hurray! It’s done

After endless hours of work I have prepared a sneak preview of Puzzle Blox Arcade! for you. It’s feature complete though it still requires a lot of testing and bug fixing. If you like then you can download the beta version from the link below:

Update September 30th: Puzzle Blox Arcade! beta is available via slideme.org and andappstore.com now, too.

Today I have some news about the upcoming Puzzle Blox release! I got a lot of interests in it so here’s what I can share with you so far. The new Puzzle Blox will come in two flavors:

• Puzzle Blox - All the Puzzle Blox you already know including two new play modes Arcade and Challenge, new graphics, new sound effects, more levels and more fun. This upgrade will be available for FREE for all existing users of Puzzle Blox.
• Puzzle Blox Arcade! - Completely FREE game including the brand new unlimited Arcade play mode. This is not a demo or trial version but a full game! And it includes over a dozen of demo levels of the original Puzzle Blox game. Puzzle Blox Arcade!

New game modes:

• Arcade!: The screen will start filling with blox continuously. Remove groups of three or more adjacent blox by tapping the screen before it fills up completely. Try tilting and twisting your mobile to regroup the blox to achieve even bigger combos! Ideal for casual gaming in the tram or while waiting for your lunch.
• Puzzle: Classic Puzzle Blox with 100 tricky levels to solve in 4 difficulties. This is Puzzle Blox at its best!
• Challenge: Puzzle mode is not challenging enough? Then try playing against the clock, solve levels with only a minimum of moves, achieve big combos or beat the high scores in this brand new game mode.

New graphics and two completely new themes:

• Aztec takes you to the legendary treasures of Middle and South America.
• Retro was designed in the spirit of golden video games era in the 80th and turns your mobile into a classical handheld gaming device!

The new Puzzle Blox and Puzzle Blox Arcade release is expected to hit Android market within the next few weeks. Currently I’m polishing the graphics and game play and will start a Beta phase very soon. While waiting for the final release check out some teasing screen shots below:

Today I have uploaded a very small update to Puzzle Blox Lite before Im leaving for vacations tomorrow. Not much new here but the file size has been slightly reduced for faster download and installation. It is available from Google Android Market. Alternative locations and app stores will be updated one after another.

A major update to both Puzzle Blox and WiFi Buddy is still underway and I promise to upload a video and some teasing screen shots after I’m back from my camping trip I received some valuable feedback the last weeks and now working hard to get everything implemented and polished. Hope you will enjoy the update!
