Tonight I have published a small new release of both Puzzle Blox and Puzzle Blox Arcade! Not much has changed for most of you, just some small issues fixed and slightly reduced resource needs; nothing serious. But for our Chinese friends Puzzle Blox features both Simplified and Traditional Chinese now. Thanks for the translations by HiAPK.com!

Sorry, but I had to re-enable the comment captcha (the “Are you human or a machine?” test) again due to massive spam coming in the last days. I really wonder if it is such profitable to post dozens of Russian spam comments every day again and again… If you have your own Wordpress blog I really suggest you try out both the Akismet and the SI Captcha plug-in. The first one filters out nearly major parts of comment spam on your web site fully automatically. Latter one ensures that spam bots won’t be able to post at all in the first place.

Puzzle Blox Arcade! (FREE)

Uploaded yet another new Puzzle Blox and Puzzle Blox Arcade! release 2.0.8 this morning:

• Slightly reduced memory needs and increased performance
• Fixed minor drawing issues on devices with different screen sizes
• Re-encoded sound for less memory needs and better compatibility with newer Android revisions
• Improved error logging

James, aka @AndroidNewb, from AndroidGuys.com has posted a review of Puzzle Blox you definitely need to check out!

Overall, I would highly recommend the game.  It is fun, challenging, polished and a great use of the Android platform.  With my predisposition for puzzle and phone games, I decided to test it’s universal appeal and ran it through my “wife test” (my wife is not a big fan of video or phone games) and it passed with flying colors; didn’t get my phone back for a couple of hours and even then only because I got a call.  The cons listed are annoyances, but are far out weighed by the enjoyment of the game.

It’s official now. The new Puzzle Blox release will appear in Google Android Market on Saturday, October 31st… Halloween.

It features all the good stuff already seen in previous Beta versions plus various fixes and improvements. Thanks for testing, pals and gals!
