You’ve heard it earlier already: I’ve been working on the next major update for Puzzle Blox, the top selling casual game for Android phones. Did you know that Puzzle Blox actually was ranked 3rd on market.android.com in its category last month? Wow, that’s awesome. Thanks so much!
Let’s start right away with the fun…
What’s New?
The main menu and first steps have been completely reworked to make it easier and more understandable for new users. Puzzle Blox is more polished now so I hope you like it!
I’ve also added a new tab to the highscores section to show both the top players of the last 7 days and of all-time. Can you beat these scores? I’ve never managed to get even close myself 
. Wow!
Puzzle Blox features an overhauled theming engine now. You can download additional theme packs from Android Market for free! That’s great because the main application is smaller and will better fit on your internal memory now. There’s a completely new hand-crafted theme “Summer Time” available to enjoy during your summer holidays. Tell me how you like it!
And finally there are so many bug fixes and performance improvements all over the place. You shouldn’t run out of memory anymore.
Puzzle Blox has been confirmed to work on all Android devices running either Cupcake, Donut, Eclair or Froyo. You have an Android phone? Then there’s be a big chance Puzzle Blox will work for you! Period.
As a last goody I’ve also updated the Puzzle Blox Live Wallpaper which is available for Android 2.1 devices with live wallpaper support. It brings you Puzzle Blox right onto your home screen. You can share the same themes in both the Puzzle Blox game and the live wallpaper. Isn’t that sweet?

Today, I have another update to Puzzle Blox for you. This release fixes an issue which could lead to game over in Arcade! mode even if there was enough space left on the game field. Kudos to Bryan who reported this issue last week.

A small update to WiFi Buddy has been released this morning. It’s not the full blown update I’m promising since months now but this should be the last build before the new one goes online.
Changes in this release are:
- Fixed a force close issue with HTC Hero and other customized devices
- Added VPN settings for Android 2.x devices
- Tweaked user interface here and there

- improve game performance while tapping the screen
- fix typos in German and English strings
- fix a manifest issues which prevented the game to be installed on some devices

Finally, it’s done. I’ve uploaded a new release of Puzzle Blox and Puzzle Blox Arcade! to all common market places like Google™ Android Market, SlideMe.org, AndAppStore.com and others. As always you can also download it directly from the Puzzle Blox web page.
The most significant change is a significant speed boost which should make the game a lot smoother on lower-end Android phones.

Sorry for the lack of updates in the last days. I’m currently working on major speed improvements for Puzzle Blox and Puzzle Blox Arcade! The last comments in Android Market pointed out several issues people have. I’m about to fix those right at the moment… Expect an update later this week.
So please excuse that I’m a bit short-spoken today

Happy new year! During the holidays I got a few minutes to work on an update for Puzzle Blox and Puzzle Blox Arcade! which is now available. I made some important bug fixes for devices with low memory resources, slightly reduced the file size of Puzzle Blox Arcade! and (hopefully) implemented a fix for the new Acer Liquid devices. The detailed list of changes is as follows:
- Improved memory requirements for devices running Android 1.6 and later
- Improved accelerometer handling for better compatibility
- Reworked main menu animations
- Fixed string in German localization
- Built upon Android SDK 2.01. Puzzle Blox has successfully been tested on devices running Android 1.5, 1.6, 2.0, 2.0.1 and 2.1
