WiFi Buddy 0.9.5 released

A small update to WiFi Buddy has been released this morning. It’s not the full blown update I’m promising since months now but this should be the last build before the new one goes online.

Changes in this release are:

  • Fixed a force close issue with HTC Hero and other customized devices
  • Added VPN settings for Android 2.x devices
  • Tweaked user interface here and there

You can download WiFi Buddy from the usual locations or directly from my web site.

Enjoy!

Update: Took this version our of Android Market for now. It makes things even worse. I’m so sorry :(

Update 2: WiFi Buddy 0.9.5 is out which should address these newly introduced issues.

  1. On my Hero, before this update, I had Force Close when tapping “advanced settings” option, now I have Force Close at launch… nice bugfix :(

  2. Please update to WiFi Buddy 0.9.5 (available in the Android Market, 3rd party app stores and on my web site). This should fix your issues. I’m very sorry for the trouble the last update caused.

    Best,
    André

  3. Hi, are u planning on add translations? I can help with italian

  4. Yes, that but be great. But I’m still working on an updated version which will contain many new and updated strings. So thanks for now but I might come back to you on a later time :)

  5. hi
can i with your program setup diferent network settings (ip/mask/gateway) to diferent wifi network? eg my home network has dhcp server, but at work i must use fixed ip
    thnks

  6. No, I’m sorry. That functionality is not available yet. I had so many plans with improving WiFi Buddy but my time is very limited at the moment… :( A new release of Puzzle Blox is in the pipe and I’m working nearly full-time on two other biiiiig projects currently.

  7. wanted to start off by saying thanks this is great and the only app i have found that will even recognize an ad hoc network. and i was wondering if you were planning on making wifi buddy able to connect to an ad hoc network and if not is there a way that you can tell me that would be a great help and once again thanks this is great.

  8. Hi P.Robbie,

I’m sorry, but the current releases of Android do not support ad-hoc networks on a system level. So there’s nothing I could do on application side to add support for this. So WiFi Buddy can show ad-hoc networks but it will not be able to connect to it. I’d wish to have it myself but it is not possible using stock Android phones. :(

    Best regards,
    André

  9. It works perfect on my micromax a60

    Thankfully,
    Deepak
